In Response to God's Call...

This summer was quite an eventful one for all of us! In honor of Mother Pauline’s 200th birthday on June 3, we participated in everything from birthday parties to spiritual renewals to mission trips, honoring Mother Pauline’s legacy and her “response to God’s call.”

Our “big days” in August were wonderful opportunities for all of us to renew our own “response to God’s call.” On August 14th, nine of us temporary professed renewed our vows. On the 15th, two of our Sisters made their perpetual profession, their “response” to God’s call forever! August 16th brought the first profession of one Sister.

On August 20th, two postulants entered the novitiate, and the culmination of our celebrations occurred on August 21st, as we celebrated with our Sisters 50, 60, even 70 years of “response” to God’s call! What a beautiful witness of fidelity to God and to Mother Pauline’s charism.

Each of us is challenged to respond to God’s call every day, in many different ways. God’s call may be to help a sick or hurt person, to offer guidance to a child, even to share a smile or a kind word with someone. Maybe today we can all join in praying with Mother Pauline, “God should never conform himself to us, but rather we must always be guided by Him. Our every breath must tell him, “I am the handmaid of the Lord; let what you have said be done to me.””
