All Women Are Unique: Mother Pauline

The jewelry company, Pandora, recently created a video advertisement in which they performed a unique experiment. Children were blindfolded and presented in a room with six women, one of which was their mother. The children had to use their sense of touch and their intuition to discover which woman was their mother. Without fail, there was a singular connection between mother and child. What is intriguing is that each of the women were mothers, each responded tenderly to the children, and yet the children were still drawn to their own mother.

A little girl, perhaps three years old, is seen rubbing noses with one of the women, and then shaking her head, “no”. It calls to mind the classic book by P. D. Eastman, Are You My Mother? The point of the experiment? All women are unique.

And how about Mother Pauline...is our love for her “unique”?

Do we know her and love her enough to have a connection which enables one to be recognized, although blindfolded by the veil that separates heaven and earth?

For certain, it is true on her part. Mother Pauline once said, “I am the mother of all of the Sisters and I dearly love each one without exception.” Let us rekindle our devotion to Blessed Pauline, as we draw near the to celebrating her Feastday.

You can watch the video, “The Unique Connection” below, as you pray and ponder these questions.
